Bali is one of the most
beautiful places in the world—long, white sandy beaches, lush tropical foliage,
amazing food, and some of the nicest people you have ever met.
Bali, it is where tourism mingles with mystery. It is Indonesia’s answer to
Australia’ Gold Coast because it is a surfer’s paradise of sun, sand, some of
the world’s most beautiful beaches, tallest waves and a lot of good times.
Bali, indeed is custom-made for tourists. You can see them around lounging in
restaurants, shopping and most of all at the beach sunning themselves or toting
a surfboard. There are also rows and rows of shops that carry traditional
Balinese goods as well as a variety of other goods to suit every tourist’s
delight and needs. Regardless of where you come from, Bali’s appeal is not hard
to be pleased about – beautiful sunsets, easy-going lifestyle, warm smiles and
great weather.
One example of a fascinating site in Bali is the Pura Luhur Ulu Watu which is
perched on a raised seabed that emerged from the sea many, many years ago. This
magnificent temple is considered as one of the most sacred sanctuaries of the
island and is off limits to tourists until recently. Presently, it is a hot spot
with a multitude of vendors selling souvenirs of the temple. Another site worth
checking out is Tanah Lot which is home to Bali’s beautiful sunsets. It is a
small temple which is set on a white sandy beach that looks out to the sea. The
sunsets here especially from April to November are simply stunning.
Bali’s history and culture is enchanting but like anywhere else, it is slowly
being swallowed up by modern culture. But inspite of this, if you are looking
for a place to just relax, be yourself and do nothing, then make Bali be your
destination. It is like a neat little package that has it all- culture,
nightlife, food, good ambiance and most of all, the superb beaches and surf.
